Introduction

 Q’EROS HEALING

The Q’ero community is located at around 4500 meters above sea level, hidden in the Andean mountain range, safeguarding and maintaining its ancestral culture and traditions and coexisting in a close and harmonious relationship with nature.

It is an energetic, magical and mysterious place where the Q’ero people take care of their natural deities and where their spiritual guides (P’aqos and Ñustas) remind us of their way of seeing, living and feeling the world according to their ancestral traditions.

By travelling along this circuit, filled with the ancestral knowledge and living culture of Q’eros, travelers will have the privilege of being treated as special guests and will be able to share a unique and different experience by getting involved with their ceremonies, traditions, culture, gastronomy and livestock.

Itinerary

DAY 1

ITINERARY 1: CUSCO - NINAMARKA - CHUA CHUA - Q'ERO

We will be departing from Cusco at 6:00 am to the destination of Hatun Q’eros (known as the last Inca ayllu). During the tour, we will behold the scenic beauty of the Andean Mountains. We will first visit the archaeological park of Ninamarca and then we will continue to the Paucartambo folk village.

There we will have lunch and we will be able to observe the Carlos III bridge and the traditional colonial town; we will then continue our trip to Chua Chua – Q´eros arriving at approximately 14:00 hours. In the afternoon we will have a conversation about the various ceremonies that will be held during our trip and the Q’ero priest will perform the first one as the karpay ceremony.

DAY 2

ITINERARY 2: CHUA CHUA - KATACCOCHA - HUAMANLIPA- CEREMONY

After having spent your first night of rest, we wake up at 6:00 am in the morning with hot water and coca tea to have our light and energetic breakfast to start the walk to the highest point of the trip, wich is Apu Huamanlipa in this beautifull place, we are going to receive the energy of the apu and nature, with our ceremony.

After the ceremony we will come back to the small town of the Q’eros community, challmachimpanta, a perfect place to enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon we will have free time to share with people from the community.

DAY 3

ITINERARY 3: CHUA CHUA - PHUYOCCOCHA- CEREMONY - PAUCARTAMBO

Our support staff will wake you up early bringing you a hot drink to help you start the day and then enjoy a delicious breakfast, we get everything ready to take our return to the city of Cusco, and we leave at 8:00 a.m. and after 3 p.m. We have a short walk to the PHUYOCCOCHA lagoon, where we perform the cleaning ceremony, a 20-minute walk one way. Then we return to the city of Cusco on a trip of 5 hours approx.

What to Bring

  • Our horses carry up to 6kg of your belongings. This should include your Sleeping Bag and mats or floor insulation (if you bring or rent one). Here these two objects weigh 3 kg.
  • 2-3 hiking pants
  • 4 sets of underwear.
  • 4 pairs of hiking socks
  • 1 warm jacket – it is very cold at night
  • 1 raincoat and pants
  • 1 wool hat
  • Flashlight: essential
  • Waterproof gloves (even if they are ski gloves, the better)
  • Comfortable shoes for camping.
  • comfortable walking shoes
  • Waterproof jacket / rain poncho
  • Quick drying towel. We offer small things, you can enjoy something bigger.
  • Soap bottle: we provide warm water for daily cleaning; You may feel cold when you take the soap.
  • Charger: Don’t plug it in anywhere while walking!
  • Large plastic bags: to keep things neat, messy and clean.

What to pack:

  • Backpacks can be of any size for hiking, but we always recommend that the smaller the better. Backpacks of more than 25 liters are not allowed in Machu Picchu. If it is larger, you will need to store it outside the citadel gates. For water you need to bring Camel Back or Canteen
