San Pedro Ceremony

The San Pedro Ceremony: Ancestral Huachuma Healing Experience

The San Pedro Ceremony, also known as the Huachuma Healing Ritual, is a sacred Andean spiritual practice centered around the San Pedro cactus — a powerful plant medicine revered for thousands of years by indigenous cultures of the Andes. In Andean cosmology, Huachuma is considered a teacher plant, guiding participants toward clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper connection with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus, the sacred mountain spirits that protect and sustain life.

This ancestral ceremony is guided by experienced Andean spiritual elders, known as paqos, who preserve and transmit the wisdom of Inca and pre-Inca traditions. Through prayer, sacred intention, ceremonial offerings, and respectful use of the plant medicine, the San Pedro Ceremony creates a safe and intentional space for healing, inner reflection, and spiritual awakening. Many participants describe the experience as heart-opening, grounding, and deeply transformative, allowing them to release emotional blockages and reconnect with their life purpose.

Unlike recreational or unsupervised use, the San Pedro Ceremony is a purpose-driven spiritual journey, rooted in tradition, ethics, and reverence for nature. The ritual emphasizes mindfulness, guidance, and integration, helping participants gain insight without losing grounding. Rather than seeking escape, the ceremony invites clarity, alignment, and a renewed relationship with oneself, the natural world, and ancestral wisdom.

DAY 1

Wachuma or San Pedro healing

Wachuma makes your eyes shine with pure and eternal love. The experience of San Pedro has a duration between 6 and 10 hours. Generally it is taken in daytime in a very pure and special place, by the mountains, rivers and natural vegetation, where there is no interruption of cars and people.

San Pedro (Wachuma) is an ancestral ceremony of Inca origin, practiced by the native communities of the coast, mountains and jungle of Peru, our retreat is held in sacred places and with nature.  It is led by a spiritual guide of the Q´ro´s community (Q’ro priest) in a responsible, safe and respectful manner.

It is an inner ceremony. It cleans and heals your mind, heart, soul and body; reconnecting your whole being with nature and the universe. It opens your mind and heart filling them with love and light.

The objective of carrying out the retreat is to allow  the restructuring of mental schemes, generating peace and tranquility in your life. The Q´ro teachers´ goal- in their healing ritual- is to make their patient “flourish” during the ceremony, so that their subconscious opens up like a flower.
